  • Spelling List – Your child is bringing home their spelling list. They’ve written the date at the top! Their test will be Monday the 25th.
  • Fluency Page – Please have your child read “An Odd Pet for Oswald” and have them pracitce reading it this week for fluency practice!

You should receive an invitation from Sign Up Genius inviting you to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences. I have a committment on Thursday night and have adjusted my conference times for Thursday. On Thursday my conferences will run from 12:30-5:15pm and from 12:30-3:00pm on Friday. If the times do not work, please reach out to me through email and we can arrange another time.

  • Math – My Math Page uploaded to your child’s folder on the Math SeeSaw Assignment
  • Dolch Words – We review Dolch Words tomorrow!
  • “Whit” – Please have your child practice reading the decodable book “Whit” It contains our new focus /wh/! There are suggested questions you can ask your child while reading.

We did some fun experiments with a Pumpkin today and will wrap them up tomorrow!

Homework

  • Math – My Math page uploaded to your child’s folder on the Math Assignment
  • Spelling – Your child’s new Spelling Words are in their folder. They wrote the test date on the sheet. The test is Monday, the 18th.
  • Backpack Page Fluency – Please have your child practice reading “Ben’s Shop”. We read it in class and they should read it out loud daily! They all understand that the more they read it the better they’ll get at reading!

Please sign and return your child’s SuperKids Assessment Test.

We have Mass tomorrow at 8:30am.

Continue to study for the Spelling Test on Wednesday.

Review your child’s Dolch words with them. They will be re-tested on Thursday.

Today we read “Pumpkin Jack” and learned how a pumpkin decomposes. We now have our own “Pumpkin Jack” in class and will be keeping a close eye on over the next severals weeks!

  • Backpack Page 10 – New Spelling List. Your child’s new list is in their green folder. The test will be next Wednesday, October 6th.
  • Backpack Page 11 – Fluency – Have your child read their new fluency sheet several times this week!

Today, we began reviewing Dolch Words with your child. Your child will be reviewed on their Dolch Words every Thursday. You will find a letter telling you the words your child got correct and the words your child needs to focus on. Our focus today, was reviewing Pre-Primer (Pre-K words) and Primer (Kindergarten words). When your child passes the 2nd grade Dolch Words List, they will be finished with reviewing Dolch words for the year.
