Lessons for 4/9/20

Today is CATCH UP day! Have your child work on anything they weren’t able to get done this week. Please complete and upload any SuperKids, Math, and Religion that you were missing. Please double check to make sure your child has completed 25 minutes in Reading and 25 minutes in Math, for I-Ready!

Please make sure your child’s rough draft of their Personal Narrative has been uploaded to Seesaw as well. I would like to read them, so that I can offer editing suggestions to them – just like I would do in school!

I’ll be available tomorrow, by email, between 9am-3pm.

Have a nice evening and get ready for a much needed SPRING BREAK!

Religion: On Seesaw – Watch the “Beginners Bible – The Story of Easter”. Link on Seesaw. Complete Religion Wednesday, the Stations 11-14. Upload to Seesaw.

Superkids:

  • Have your child reread the story “Fire!”, in their hard reader. 
  • Once they’ve reread the story, complete pages 8 and 9, in their workbook. 
  • On pg. 8, have your child answer questions about the story, “Fire!”, by filling in the bubble next to the correct answer for each question.  On pg. 9, your child should draw lines through the sentences that DO NOT tell how Sal and Carmen helped the fire department in the story “Fire!”.  Please upload pgs 8 and 9 to SuperKids Homework 4/8/20, in SeeSaw.

Math: Complete Lesson 14 – Read and Write Numbers to 120, pgs.429-434.  Please Upload ONLY HOMEWORK, to Math Homework 4/8/20, on Seesaw.

  • On SeeSaw you will notice that I have added Assignments for Religion, Math, and SuperKids. When uploading your work for those subjects, please upload your work to the correct assignment. For example, when uploading your child’s Math Homework, please go to Math Homework 4/7/2020 and click Add Response. Please only upload the items requested. I DO NOT need all the math pages, just the homework ones.

Religion: using the link on Seesaw, Watch Veggie Tales Twas the Night Before Easter. Complete Religion Tuesday – Stations 6-11. Upload Stations to Seesaw.

Superkids:

  • In your SuperKids Hard Reader, review the Unit 5 Table of Contents on pg. 61 –  read the Bossy R words; review your new Memory Words in the white ribbon at the bottom of the page; read the new 4 words at the bottom of the page.  These new words will be found in your story.
  • Read the story “Fire!”,  starting on pg. 62. 
  • Complete Blackline Masters #54 and #55.  If you log onto your SuperKids Portal, in the What Your Child is Learning box under Assignments you’ll see that I’ve uploaded links to show you which ones to complete!  These worksheets can be found in your child’s materials. Please Upload to SuperKids Homework Folder for today.

Math: Complete Lesson 13 – Count to 120, pages 423-428.  Please upload ONLY the 2 Homework pages to Seesaw.

SuperKids: Visit these links to learn more about Controlling R (Bossy R).

Once you’ve watched the videos, complete pages 5-6.  On page 5, Read the words at the top of the page; Trace the blue lines under er, ir, and ur, in the words at the top of the page, and in the sentences below.  Then follow the directions to mark the pictures.  On page 6, Read the words at the top of the page and underline ir, er, and ur in each word.  For 1-8, read the words and chose a word from the top that means almost the same and write it on the handwriting lines.  Please upload 5-6 to Seesaw.

Spelling List – You will need your Superkids Workbook. Log onto your Superkids Parent Portal and listen to “Sal’s Spanish Song” with instructions for page 7.  Listen to the narrator and trace the BLUE Memory Words on page 7 and trace the BLUE Pattern Words ONLY on page 8. This will be your child’s new Spelling List.  Test Date to be determined!

Superkids Journal: If you were the Easter Bunny: What would you do? Where would you go? Write 3 complete sentences using proper punctuation, capitalization and finger spacing. Write the date at the top of your page.

Superkids: Today we are beginning Unit 5!  You need your Unit 5-6 Workbook, found in the envelope I dropped off last Saturday. Before you begin, have your child watch the following links below that show the sound /ar/ makes:

Once you’ve watched the links, complete workbook pg 1: Read the words at the top of the page; trace the blue letters and add /ar/ to the words on the handwriting lines; draw a line from the word to the picture it describes. On page 2: Read the words at the top; Add /ar/ to complete the sentences; complete each picture so it shows what the sentence describes. Have your child complete the worksheets for /ar/  found in the envelope. Complete Spell and Scramble and Cut and paste for /ar/. Make sure you are working on /ar/ and not another vower/r pair! Please upload the Workbook pages only to Seesaw.

Math: Complete Lesson 8, in your Math Workbook, pgs. 391-396. Please upload the Homework only to Seesaw.

Handwriting: pgs. 78-79

SuperKids Journal:  Who is your favorite Superhero and Why?  Please write 3 complete sentences and remember finger spacing, capital letters and punctuation.  Try and sound out your words as you spell them and use the spelling rules that you know!
